The EUREL website aims to provide accurate and up-to-date information on the social and legal status of religion in Europe from an interdisciplinary perspective. It is intended for the international scientific community, public authorities and political forces, and gathers comparative information concerning the enlarged Europe (EU member states, candidates countries and other European countries). Data are provided and checked by a network of correspondents, specialists of law or social sciences.
Databases: DREL (bibliographical database about law and religion in Europe), EURISLAM (bibliographical database concerning the current situation, in contemporary Europe in a wide sense, of Islam as a religion and of Muslims as a diversified group of population), JUREL (case law about law and religion in Europe), LEGIREL (legislation concerning the activities, the organization and the exercise of religious bodies).
European Consortium for Church and State Research

The European Consortium for Church and State Research was founded on December 12th 1989, with headquarters at the Istituto di Diritto Internazionale of the University of Milan.
The Consortium is composed of a number of professors sharing a common interest in the relations between States and religious denominations in Europe from a historical, political and, particularly, juridical point of view.

The Consortium promotes studies in this spectrum, organizes meetings and facilitates contacts between scholars from the various European Countries. It especially promotes the cooperation in scientific research and the sharing of specialized knowledge. Furthermore, the Consortium provides consultation and advisory services for both state and private corporations, whether national or international, regarding institutional activities within the Consortium's field of interest. The Consortium is an associate member of the "International Association of Legal Science", with headquarters at the UNESCO in Paris.

Since 1989 the Consortium organizes meetings on a yearly basis. The proceedings of the Consortium's meetings have been published by Dott. A. Giuffrè Editore (Milan), Bruylant (Brussels), Nomos (Baden-Baden), Peeters (Leuven), Institute for European Constitutional Law (IECL, University of Trier) and Comares (Granada) in cooperation with other publishing houses. The Consortium publishes the annual "European Journal for Church and State Research - Revue européenne des relations Églises-État". Moreover, a handbook on "State and Church in the European Union" has been published in cooperation with the Consortium. The book, originally published in German, was translated into English, French, Spanish, Italian, Czech, Hungarian, Greek, Polish, Russian and Georgian. In collaboration with the Unité de Recherche Droit, religion, entreprise et société (DRES, CNRS and Université de Strasbourg) a bibliographical database on law and religion has been established in 27 European countries.
European Studies on Religion and State Interaction
EuReSIS NET aims to contribute to the creation of a European educational system which prepares young people to respect the religious diversity, to reject prejudices, to feel the necessity of a peaceful social cohabitation in the European religious mosaic. Through a multidisciplinary, interreligious, interconfessional educational approach tries to improve the quality of Religion and State studies in Europe by mapping, analyzing the current situation and developing new methods of studying, understanding and teaching. The harmonization of courses, the adoption of Tuning methodology, the facilitation of student and staff mobility, the cooperation between universities and society are specific objectives.
FIDR- Forum internazionale democrazia & religioni
Il Forum Internazionale Democrazia & Religioni –FIDR Centro interdipartimentale nato dalla collaborazione dei Dipartimenti di Scienze giuridiche e economiche “A. Galante Garrone”, Dipartimento Polis e Studi Umanistici e delle Facoltà di: Giurisprudenza, Scienze politiche e Lettere e Filosofia dell'Università del Piemonte Orientale Amedeo Avogadro si pone tra i propri fini istituzionali e scientifici, non solo la formazione e la ricerca, ma ancor prima il trasferimento di conoscenze in merito alle questioni inerenti i conflitti etnico-religiosi presenti nelle democrazie e negli ordinamenti giuridici, specialmente dell’area euro mediterranea.


In tal senso il Centro intende condurre attività ed iniziative volte a favorire il perfezionamento delle metodologie di ricerca e instaurare una collaborazione sistematica con altri centri-studio e la Pubblica amministrazione al fine di migliorare la conoscenza e elaborare soluzioni concrete nell’ambito della governance delle società multiculturali.
